6/1/2023 0 Comments Autocad 2021 mac tutorial![]() This is very similar to the tool found in AutoCAD Mobile. Another Inquiry tool that we have access tool is the Quick Measure tool. I'll press Return, and then Escape to get me out of the command. And this leaves me with about 624 square feet of decking. And now it's removed the orange shaded area from the calculation. Again, I'll type O for Object, so I can just select my line. And now I'm going to type in S for Subtract, and press Return. This tells me that the overall area is just shy of 1100 square feet, but as we can see from the green shaded area, it's including the coping and the pool line as well. To do this I'm going to type in A for Add area, and then O for Object, so I can select my polyline. That's just the area in between the back of coping and the decking line that we see here. And now I want to determine the area of the decking. And then go back up to Tools, Inquiry, Area. ![]() And we can see that it is just under 400 square feet, with a perimeter of 86 feet. In this case I'll choose the waterline of the pool. This allows me to simply select a closed polyline and get the entire area of that object. I'm going to go ahead and type in O for Object, and press Return. Object, Add an area, Subtract an area, or Exit. And we can see that I have a whole bunch of options down the command line. And this will make the next couple steps a little bit easier. Next, I need to determine the area of the pool and the area of the deck. And we can see that they've been rotated just shy of 36 degrees off of the vertical. In this case I'll use the vertical line here. And then I need to select another line to use as a reference. So I'm going to draw a small line from the center point to the center point of the circle and press Return. We can see that they've been rotated off of the 90 degree axis. And now I want to take a look at the steps here. I'll hit Escape to get out of the command. And we can see that the overall length of the pool is about 34 foot two inches. In this case I'll choose the midpoint here and the midpoint here. From here I can click any points that I want. I want to use two quadrant points, so I'm going to go up to Tools, Inquiry, and Distance. Now I need to know the overall length of my pool. I also want to change the angle to Decimal Degrees with a precision of two decimal places, and then click OK. And I want to change my units from Decimal to Architectural. First, I'm going to go up to Format, and then come down to Units. To that end, AutoCAD for Mac has a number of measuring tools that allow us to find things like distance, angles, or areas of our geometry. For all of the information that we give AutoCAD to create our geometry, there are many times where we need to get information back out of our drawing.
